Grady Club: Beaufort by Boat

This event is full. Please register for the waiting list and we’ll do everything we can to get you on the trip!

Our most popular overnight trip, year after year!  Once again, we’ll head north to the Beaufort Hotel and Boathouse Marina at Front Street Village.  As you’re reading this, consider bringing family, another couple, or other friends on your Grady for this trip; they’re welcome!

On Thursday, September 15, we’ll depart Atlantic Marine and follow Jordan north in the Intracoastal Waterway behind Figure Eight and Topsail Islands, across the New River, through Camp Lejeune and to Swansboro.  We’ll make our way through Swansboro, which is a great place to enjoy lunch, grab a drink, or swap drivers.

We’ll continue on eastward behind Emerald Isle and into the wide open Bogue Sound.  Eventually, we’ll see the Atlantic Beach Causeway off our bow.  After passing under the bridge, we’ll see the NC State Ports at Morehead City, head around Radio Island, and down Taylor’s Creek to our destination. The trip is about four hours.

We’ll help you get docked and our staff will be on-site and ready to hand you your room keys on the dock.  Drop your bags and come celebrate our arrival with a pool party, complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the poolside bar.  For dinner, make a reservation at the award winning 34° North Restaurant on-site or take your optional golf cart two miles to downtown Beaufort.

Friday, enjoy downtown Beaufort, lay out by the pool, or head out on your Grady.  Saturday, we’ll meet up with the local Grady Club at Cape Lookout.  Enjoy a box lunch from Beaufort Grocery.  Jordan will lead you out and help you get anchored at the Cape. Of course, this trip is optional.

Sunday, enjoy breakfast at 34° North or downtown Beaufort and depart anytime you like.  Follow Jordan out of Beaufort at 10:00am, arriving back in Wrightsville Beach about 2:00pm.

In preparation for this trip, Jordan will put together a series of planning e-mails with videos about the trip, what to expect, and how to pack.  In addition, he’ll coach the club along the way via VHF radio on speed, bridges, no wake zones, and other tips such as trim.  The trip route is in the protected Intracoastal Waterway.

If you’re curious, watch Jordan’s video below on how to get to Beaufort, filmed aboard his Grady-White Coastal Explorer 191.
