WILMINGTON, NC –New Hanover Regional Medical Center would like to thank Atlantic Marine and She Rocks for a generous donation of $10,000 to the NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center.

Atlantic Marine donated a portion of its sales to She Rocks for the benefit of NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center patients battling any form of the disease.

“Cancer has touched the lives of some of my closest friends and family.” said David Floyd, president of Atlantic Marine. “It’s my hope that this donation will touch someone in need. We love this community and look forward to being able to do more in the future.”

She Rocks Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for ovarian cancer research and providing local support to those affected by all cancers. She Rocks accepted the Atlantic Marine donation, and through the NHRMC Foundation, will donate the funds to the NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center for the purchase of AccuVein illumination devices. This vein-finding technology helps reduce the pain and discomfort some patients experience in the administering of vital treatments.

“We are grateful to Atlantic Marine and She Rocks for their generosity and support,” said Henry Hawthorne, administrator of oncology at NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center. “It is tremendous to have members of our own community contribute at this level and it solidifies their belief in the high standard of care we provide our patients right here at home. ”

Opened in 1976 as a small dealership at Wrightsville Beach, Atlantic Marine has grown to be a four-site, full-service dealer and marina as well as the Carolinas’ largest Grady-White dealer. For more information, visit www.atlanticmarinesales.com.

She Rocks is a 501c3 started in 2014 to raise awareness and funding for ovarian cancer research and support for those with cancer. For more information, visit http://she-rocks.org.
